AMAX Version 2.20
READ.ME File
Copyright (C) 1990 Alan D. Applegate, All Rights Reserved
This new version of AMAX brings with it numerous new features and
bug fixes. I would highly recommend scanning over the
documentation file (AMAX.DOC) as well as the what's new file
(WHATSNEW.220).
It's taken over a year to prepare this release, and that means
AMAX has had its second birthday. I want to give a special
"thanks" to everyone who's used AMAX along the way, and given the
support I've been looking for. The response and encouragement
have been overwhelming. I still can't believe how many people
use this program all the time, and are nice enough to let me know
they really like it.
Since so much went into AMAX since the last release, I fully
expect to be making a bug fix release within about a month from
the release of 2.20. Whether I do or not depends entirely on
what is found wrong in 2.20. It's been through extensive
testing, and I believe it's solid, but only time and the
harshness of flying from the nest will tell. Stay tuned to the
BINKLEY EchoMail conference for information on any bug fix
releases that may occur. (I will not answer NetMail on this
subject.)
I said before that AMAX does about 95% of what I EVER envisioned
it doing. That may be true, but as time goes on, I keep
envisioning more. There probably will be another major AMAX
release, but it may be another year before any of us will see it.
The future course of its host product - BinkleyTerm - will in
large part drive the future of AMAX itself.
Finally, please read SUPPORT.DOC for important information on
product support.
